Thread: New Octavia Ordered - Sept 09

Hi everyone,

Just placed order for a Skoda OCtavia 1.6 MPI SE and hopefully going to get it September 2009.

Basically, the scrapage deal was my only option (fnon uk users, govement initative that they give £1,000 and the car company give minium of £1,000 for part exchanging a car older than 10 years old that you must of owned for 1 minimum of 1 year)

So, I've had a 14year old Audi A4 for two years now. It's an amazing car. I've owned the odd Ford, Renault, Fiat, etc, but the Audi was solid. But 14 hard years and things were starting to go wrong with it. What with it actually worth nearly nothing, I had to go for another car, but only a new one.

I looked at loads of different types, I nearly went for a Hyundia or the Kia, decent quality and dirty cheap, with a decent warranty. Don't know why, but had a look at the Skoda, The fabia just didnt' seem right but fell for an octavia. Little more expensive than the others but I'll have to stop eating for 3 days a week.

I was active on the Fiat and the Audi forums so hopefully will be viewing and hopefully contributing if I can to here. I'm no mechanic, but the old cars I used to be able to do brakes, oil change, etc, nowt special, but I'm pretty logical thinking.

Also, Thinking of a name for her. Suggestions are welcome, but name must start with an "O".
