I've only just come onto this forum hence the length of time for a reply. I bought the 2009 Elegence 140 TDi earlier this year. More than happy with it as it's a brilliant car, very smooth and well built.
I have had a series of problems though. A few months ago I started to feel juddering at low speed and very light throttle - ie coasting in heavy traffic etc. it became worse and worse and Skoda changed the fuel filter saying that was blocked. That didn't solve the problem and I've just had all 4 injectors changed which has cost Skoda £1600!! It's only been a week since this was done so hopefully it will solve it this time.
I imagine you'll have either bought one by now or bought something else - but if you are still deliberating - I would highly recommend them. They are superb by name and superb by nature. The Elegence (top of the range) has so many gadgets on it. Very pleased. Good luck with whatever you do buy.

    Hi Mike,

Cheers for the reply, they sound like great cars. Still thinking about what to order but we will be ordering in the next few weeks. It will either be the superb or the new diesel vrs. I'm in the army in germany so i can get it tax free and with a little discount. the 170cr elegance superb is £16700 which is a bargain but the vrs diesel as a hatchback starts at £12999 which is very tempting! I will chat to the missus because she really doesn't like the vrs seats (white bits with vrs on) but i am hoping to decide this weekend and get one ordered next week! Also why can't you spec sat nav on the new vrs? very strange! Cheers for your review, i'm sure we will be happy with either!
