As you might guess from my handle I am somewhat of a Volvo man, however now I am going into business as a private hire owner-driver I decided a change was needed, so Thursday I pick up my new (to me!), 07 Octavia 1.9 TDi PD DSG estate with 35k mileage, a snip at £8,600.
I look forward with pleasure to this new chapter in my motoring education.

Well, just got back from my annual trip to Papworth (not heart probs but breathing; sleep apnoea), 460 odd miles round trip and according to the trip computer the car still has approx. 190 miles of diesel left having done 59.7 mpg on the way up and 55.4 on the return journey.
Just one thing: how accurate are the trip computers fitted to Skodas?
