Thread: Skoda Fabia EPC Warning Light

Apologies as I have a rather limited knowledge regarding cars. I noticed my EPC warning light appear today whilst driving. The car still handles fine and I haven't noticed any significant changes in the steering / braking / gear changes etc. It's the first time I've noticed the symbol appear on the dashboard.

I understand that the EPC warning light may be associated with problems with the brake lights. If not, what other possible causes could this indicate and does it warrant taking the Skoda Fabia to the mechanics urgently, or at all?

well, EPC light has only one meaning.. that the car has some problems with some parts in it..it wouldnt tell you exactly what is the problem until you visit your nearest service center and the VAS computer for Skoda will tell where is exactly the errors!

secondly..if it is about the brake lights..you would see such a different warning light in the dashboard.

No, no, no. On some VAG cars the EPC light comes on when the brake lights do not work...most notably a brake light switch failure. This will also show up on diagnostic equipment.

Unless you have the diesel engined version in which case it is the glow plug light which flashes when the brake light switch is faulty.
