On occasion my Octavia Estate 2.0 will not start, there being nothing at all when the key is turned.

Occasionally after ignition the ‘Control system for exhaust gases’ light remains on then, maybe a day later, when started the light goes out.

Sometimes when I have stopped the car, it will start but will not let me come out of park. The ‘Selector lever lock’ light is on but the car will not come out of park when I depress the brake pedal and the light remains on. If I then stop the engine the key will not come out of the ignition.

I have taken the car to the Skoda agents but the diagnostic machine can find no fault and the garage say they cannot help without the lights being on when I actually take it to them.

Not sure if anyone out there has experienced similar or has any ideas?
