Got a Skoda pick up, there is a rattle coming from the gear box, the gear stick seems slack but there is no loss of gears I was told there are two pins that are worn, just wanted to ask the experts.

does the rattling go when you press the clutch? may sound stupid but you always have to start with the basics
Try the gearstick linkage. The support brackets for the gear linkage sit on rubbers where they are bolted to the chassis. These rubbers could be worn out. Or the ball joints for the gear linkage could be worn out too.
ball joints and the rubbers must be checked!
tell me pls...how did you know that there are 2 worn pins? did you dismantle the gearbox?!
