    Default rattling gear box

Got a Skoda pick up, there is a rattle coming from the gear box, the gear stick seems slack but there is no loss of gears I was told there are two pins that are worn, just wanted to ask the experts.

does the rattling go when you press the clutch? may sound stupid but you always have to start with the basics

No it stops when I put pressure on the gear stick ie, push it over when its in gear or neutral that stops it.

Try the gearstick linkage. The support brackets for the gear linkage sit on rubbers where they are bolted to the chassis. These rubbers could be worn out. Or the ball joints for the gear linkage could be worn out too.
