Default Odd noise on starting up

Sounds like running water behind the dash. I'm told is air in the cooling system. Do I need to sort it out as soon as possible?

Should I just run the car with the radiator cap off to get rid of air, then top up with antifreeze?

One way to get rid of your air is to open the radiator cap on top of your radiator and then start the engine. If I'm right you can see the bubbles comming out. I also think your car has a nipple placed somewhere on one of your cooling hoses that releases the air.... Not sure with a rallye.

Try find out. I hope it helps.

Been out and bought some antifreeze now - got it all sorted out. When I took the radiator cap I couldn't see anything in there at all - must have been quite low!

Will see on Monday morning in the cold if I've stopped the gurgling

    Thanks for your help

you need to ensure you have all the air out of the system, its advisable to fit a high level header bottle and go through the refil routine. Any trapped air will head to localised overheating and will warp the cylinder head/blow the head gasket.
