    Default Resetting Radio code

I had my 406 car stereo security code reset after a battery problem. I was supplied with the code and a verbal instruction on re-entering it after power supply disconnection.
The first time I tried to renter the code (after absent mindedly disconnecting the battery) it went wrong. I have not attempted it again since. Now on switching on the unit it displays 'CODE' message followed shortly by 'ERR CODE'
    Can any one help with:
1 How to deal with this error message
2 The correct method/sequence for re-entering the code.

    Thanks

    Ali

Thanks. Had a quick look at the site and it looks promising. The account is pending approval so cannot use it fully. Did find a link on it that looks useful:

When I get a minute I will extract the radio to obtain the model reference - unless any one knows the radio/cassette model fitted to P reg 406 saloon :?:
