Thread: customizing a 504 GL 1971

i have a 504 GL 1971 model, I want to customize it in to a sports car can u help me in this or giving out your ideas on the body or engine..

It's probably relative easy to fit the 180hp 505 Turbo injection engine in it. I have no experience at all by the way, I like original state more for these old cars.

The 504 was a bit before my time mate. I do believe my dad had one he used in stock car racing. He won alot of races with it too as it was alot stronger than other fords and stuff that were about at that time.

Yeah, the 504 is known for its strenght, comfort and reliability. That's why they are still quite common in Africa and very rare in Europe. Most of them have been exported to Africa.

I see now that you're from Tanzania. Might be difficult to find a Turbo Injection engine over there, because the quality is not as good as the other 505 engines.
Your 504 now has the 2.0 carburattor engine? That one is not very slow believe, but you could try to find a ZDJL engine from a 505 GTI or STI. They are 2.2l injection with 130 HP. That's is quite a lot for a 504 and easy to fit in. These engines are shipped to Africa in relatively large number, so you should be able to find one.
