Thread: power steering making noises

Hi,
I just bought a 2005 407 auto gear..
I noticed that when driving in low gear, usually parking
the power steering starts making shaking noises.
Anyone had this problem?
Is it common?

Check fluid level and belt tension.

407 has an electric power steering pump. fill up with oil (take care it needs a specific oil) slightly above the maximum mark. vibrations are normal on these cars and are due to the design of the front suspension which ensures that the front tyres remain as upright as possible during cornering. hence the great steering response
