had my xl for a couple of weeks now and when buying the saleman told me that he would check the car over to find faults and have them repaired, however i found that there was a key mark on the bonnet and some damage undernaeth the car, i went back to Penmans but the salesman was on a day off and i spoke to another salesman who looked at the damage and told me that it wouldnt have gone out in that condition and it must have been done whilst i had it, i came home and contacted the last owner a doctor who told me that the damage was done before he got the car so just lived with it,and that he bought a new xl and got a great deal thats why he sold,, i then went back to Penmans and spoke to David Penman who after a chat is going to look at doing the ket damage for me on Tueasday,

today i phoned Penmans as im waiting for a new windscreen under warranty and i was passed to Carly who it seems is service manager ( what a joke) she came on the phone with a very snotty rude and condescending attitude and asked me what i was doing contacting the last owner and why i accused him of damaging the car i told her that i had contacted the last owner and he confirmed the damage to the car and she told me i wasnt to contact him??? the last owner chatted to me for over half an hour and told me to call him again if i neede to so i cant see the problem??

i ended the telephone conversation and went up to penmans and spoke to this so called manager who has no people skills whatsoever!!! not being satisfied with her attitude and rudeness i reminded her that i am a customer and she asked me to go away, i went to see david penman and told him that i was not happy with her attitude and that in order to have a sucessfull business then customers should be treated with respect, david did appologise on her behalf but i do not think that it was acceptable that she could not appologise herself.

as my car is going in on tuseday to have a new windscreen, i agreed i will give my keys to the salesman to deal with.

in short i found the salesman that i dealt with (brian) to be very good however i will not be going to david penmans for any warranty work or servicing in future i will go to jennings middlesbrough.
im sure that there are people who have had a good service from penmans however i have not, once bitten twice shy you would think in these hard times that penmans would want to keep customers not loose them.
well what can i say mmmmmmmmmmmm dropped my car off today for new windscreen and paint work, went to collect it at 4pm and when i got there it had thick sticky lines up the screen and along the roof where apparently the screen was held in, they parked it under a tree and its thick with sticky sap, ohh said the guy not too worry ill get the pressure washer on it!!! i then reminded him that its just had a new windscreen (numb nuts), i asked if they had fixed my tow bar and he said ill just check and it turned out that they hadnt even looked at it after around half hour fiddling around they couldnt find the fault so drove off to an auto electrician and left me stood there the tw*t. when he returned he told me towbar electrics were knackerd so will need to be booked in to go on the computer for diagnostics at this point i was getting really p*ssed off with them and told him it was only serviced last week so if there was a fault then it should have shown up then???? ohh i dont know was his reply maybe it needs new parts if it does then it cant be done untill after next tuesday, so its booked in for thursday morning to look at the electrics, luckily its a seat towbar so under warranty.
to top it all off when i got home and checked the car the paintwork they have done is absolute sh*t and marks are still there!!! i rang them and told them i was not happy and to get it sorted out thursday.

penamns are a complete nightmare and a waste of space none of them seem to know what they are doing and obviously didnt look at the job card properly

if you need any work doing i suggest you go elsewhere.

well im getting sick of david penman.......

the car went in for the new windscreen on tuesday and i have discovered that they have damaged the a post on the car and the plastic trim has been cracked i spoke to keith penman who told me they werent responsible as they didnt do the work they contracted it out i took the car to the contractors who looked at the damage and said that they couldnt say they did the damage but they couldnt say they didnt either!!! but they wouldnt do anything as i didnt authorise the work penmans did, having relayed this back to penmans the response i got form david penman was "so sue me" i have called the number that phantom posted and have told them about it, so maybe i might get somewhere?? intresting enough though is that it was serviced two weeks ago by penmans and on the paperwork they gave me (today) it says rear brake discs and pads need changing but they were only done less than 1000miles ago by the previous owner and i have the reciept!!! you can imagine the look on the service persons face when i produced the reciept and asked them what was wrong with my brakes a few cougs later and "oh i dont know im not a technician" was the reply

apparently the electrics are dodgy on the towbar and will need changing and they want me to pay for it despite being told it was under warranty the work hasnt been done yet however seat are looking into it and it may have to go to another dealer to look at which suits me just fine

i really cannot stress how poor the service has been from david penmans it seems that once they sold the car they couldnt care less!!!
the car is great and meets my needs perfectly but it doesnt do the seat brand any good when they have dealers like this
