Thread: Ibiza cooling system

Hi All,

First time on here, so apologies if this is asking something that has already been posted.

Yesterday I drained the coolant from my g/f's 1998 1.4 SXE Ibiza and refilled with the appropriate anti freeze / water mix.
I suspect that there is an airlock somewhere in the system though as it took around a litre less to re-fill than what had drained out, in addition the heater blows only cold and the cooling fan refuses to cut in...
So how exactly do you bleed the cooling system as I can't seem to spot any obvious bleed screws that could be used ?
I am sure that it's easy when you know where to look.

hi there, how did you resolve this?

i have exactly same problem with my girlfriends car, same model too. I replaced thermostat today. Cant find bleed valve so tried bleeding it with the expansion tank cap off, but no joy.
