Recently purchased a 2005 2.0fsi sport auto.

Am noticing that in lower gears and when accelerating there seems to be a strange noise which i think may be from auto gearbox.

only way to describe it is a low audible thump/hum. It isnt a knock, but it definately is there. gears change through to 6th quite quickly. I mean, @38mph i am already about to slip into 6th gear.

Maybe its normal to have this strange noiseon this auto, but i doubt it.

really worried now, as it was a private sale. The car, i love. Interior is A1. And it has different 18" alloys(SEAT) which make it stand out.

Will have to bit the bullet and stick it in garage and cross fingers.

Any ideas?
