Multifunction control unit fuse box
My 2001 Volkswagen Sharan vehicle ID 7M99D3 which is the same as the Seat Alhambra and the Ford Galaxy had a short circuit in the electrical harness to the tail lights. The previous owner obviously had the same problem because someone change the 5 Amp fuse for a 10 Amp fuse which also blew so the soldered a link accross it. As a result of this short circuit the multifinction control unit fuse box has been destroyed, the PCB is burnt and the plugs melted.
My unit has part number 7M3 962258M which is the same on the Seat and is YM21 14B205CC on the Ford. So far I have not been able to get a replacement unit.
Can anyone answer the following questions:
1. Can I use the following part no which appear to be later versions, 7M3 962258S or 7M3 962258AD?
2 Can anyone explain the difference between the above mentioned units and the one in my car.
3. I have found a unit with the part no 7M3 962258L or YM21 14B205BC, can I use this unit? I found this in a breakers yard in the UK.
4. Can I use part no 7M0 962258L? I have found this in a breakers yard here in South Africa.
5. When I open the unit I have it appears that there is a power side PCB and a logic PCB which are linked together by soldered and insulated links. Can I use one of the units I found and swop the power PCB's?
6. Does anyone have a circuit diagram for this unit?
Any assistance will be appreciated.
Regards
