How do I reset the engine management light on an Ibiza MK4?

Does anyone know a quick way to reset (turn off) the engine management light on a 2003 Ibiza 1.2 without using VAG software?

If the engine management light is on, there must be a problem with the engine and the ECU is reporting the error, in which case you will need the fault codes read and the problem rectified in order to reset the managment light, otherwise the light will continue to come on.

Thanks pakmoto, I found a local guy that came out and read the codes and switched it off for me for £30.

Good stuff, what codes did he pull from the ECU?

If problems persist, it may be an advantage for you to buy a OBDII cable and software for your computer, can be picked up from ebay at around £20.
