    Default head unit

    hello
    i have a 2002 seat ibiza chill
    it has a screen display head unit with aircon and everything built in only thing is it has a tape player.
    isit possible to fit an aftermarket radio somwhere else in the car?
    and how would i do that?

    Can you take a picture of the head unit and put it on here as I'm not sure which unit it is.

    Yes it's possible to fit a after market unit, but the wiring could be fun unless you know what your doing.

    hi i dont now how to put pictures but i googled it http://strawp.net/images/photos/Hard...c/DSC00677.JPG
    would i jus need to wire into the wires in the head unit with the aftermarket unit and fit in glove box ? seems to simple?

    Ah! it's one of those, yea they are easy enough to trace wires and splice, as you say placed in the glove box.

    Another option is to use a Ipod/mp3 player with a cassette adapter.

    ie caset player but i want to fit a sub so would need a better radio right?
    isit match the coulours and splice then? would the casette player still work then wont it?

    You could still run a sub using your existing cassette, as most amplifiers have high level input that can take a feed direct from the speaker wires.

    The wire colours may be quite different between head units, so a volt meter will help a lot, if you wish to keep the existing head unit operational then it would be a good idea to fit independent speakers for the new head unit, you can splice the power wires between both units.
