I am having trouble with wetness in the rear footwells of my 5 year old Fabia. It`s a real pain in the backside with condensation & the windows freezing up on the inside. I was thinking of trying a small, wireless dehumidifier in the car to try & help matters instead of my local Skoda dealer charging me a small fortune to fix the door panels.

Wet footells usually means your door seals need replacing which is common in the Fabia, i had both my rear doors done and they have been fine since.

not easy , but not to hard if it goes right, you will have to remove the wiper arms first, then the plastic scuttle panel , its held in place with plastic clips and screws if I remember rightly,,then I used a hose pipe- nothing on end- pushed into drains whilst running until water running freely, the plastic clips can be brittle with age so be careful on removing them. dont know if you can avoid all that and just run hose pipe directly into drains.
    good luck

Hiya. I bought a new fabia in dec 2009. It is constantly damp to the point the foot wells are sodden, have you complained? the garage is telling me it is not a problem (seals leak when its raining), and it is not a design fault and there is nothing they can do about it. Hve you been told anything else?

I used to have this issue and found an easy way to solve it. THere is a space under the scuttle panel that holds leaves and rubbish and needs to be drained. I did it by opening the bonnet, reaching down the bulkhead on the passenger side and there is a little ledge. On the ledge there is a small rubber flap, when i pushed the flap a load of crap and dirty water came out and then about 2 days later after driving with the heater on full the carpet became dry and the inside of the screen was no longer covered in water. I release the water every winter now to stop the build up and ive found this works nicely.
