Skoda Fabia: brand new soggy car!
I purchased a brand new fabia last month. it has been back to the garage once to sort out a few teething problems. i discovered today that the two front foot wells are sodden and the back passenger side footwell is damp. is this a common problem with fabia's or have i just been unlucky with the car.?

there are a couple of posts already on this subject, most common problem seems to be the door seals, worth a quick read on "wet interior"

I would take the car back to the dealer and demand new door seals which will be replaced under warrenty.

iam not sure if its same problem as my 2002 fabia but behine the door cards on the 2002 fabia ther are metal door cards for speakers and windows .
some skodas was recalled for the doors filling up with water and water soaking the inner doors and and floors .
i spoke to a skoda fitter and he said the metal part on doors should have silcone on them so your might not have silcone check front and back doors ok .
hope this helps and save you money

I took my car back to the garage and they said it was a cracked water pipe that was allowing the water to seep into the front foot well and arranged to have it fixed. All done and they said they would also dry and valet the sodden carpets...well they cleaned them but they are not very dry, I have towels in the foot well to mop up the wet!!!
I am now in an argument with the garage as the door seals ARE leaking into the car when it rains and when i wash the car. I was driving round the other day when it was raining with the water dripping in!!. I pointed out this to the garage where i bought the car and they said it was Not a design fault, it is how the car is made, there is nothing they can do about it and i AM THE NOT THE FIRST PERSON TO COMPLAIN ABOUT IT, AND I WILL NOT BE THE LAST!!!. THEY OBVOUSLY KNOW THERE IS A PROBLEM AS THEY HAVE ALREADY HAD COMLAINTS.
Well I have already complained to customer services and now i will contact trading standards. I have been sold a car not fit for the purpose and i am going to demand my money back. If they dont i am afraid watchdog will be contacted...watch this space. will see what happens

keep us posted. Good luck what you could do is park it outside their dealership (legally of course) Then advertise your prblem. Ie if you want car as wet inside as it is outside buy one of these etc etc. Guy did it with a range rover he bought near me, was hilarous

I can understand that those of us with cars out of warranty have to put up with a bit of dodgy design but for a brand new car to be rolled out with the same problem after all these years of complaints is staggering.
I hope you do get watchdog involved, that'll be one episode I can't wait to see.

I had the same problem re door seals. You should know that Skoda have advised dealers of this problem, and will authorise the fitting of door seals when contacted by the dealers for clearance. Mine were replaced with no hassle, and fully covered by warranty. Hope this is of help
