    Default Front Window Failure

    Hey,

This week my driverside front window stopped working. When I pressed the switch I could here the motor working (grinding noise!) but the window didn't move. When driving along the widow slid down freely!

I have taken the inside door card off and found that a cable has rusted and snapped (as per attached pictures). Has anyone come across this failure before? Looks like a design flaw in my opinion. Is it a simple part that be be replaced or is it a whole new mechanism?!!?

    Thanks, JJ

Its not a hard job I replace the whole mechanism on ours as Got it from breakers.
Ours snagged and bent out of shape. People do seem to be having issues with water and Fabias but never seen that one

    Default Front Drivers Window Failure

    Hi

I have exactly the same problem, GSF parts want £50 for a new cable, looks like a real pain to fit though so I might just buy the part and let the garage fit it.

My friends ford fiesta cable got jammed and slipped of cog. I managed to get it all back together and working but couldnt get the cable in place. Went to fords to get a cable and they dont sell just the cable and wanted £280+vat for a kit. F that £50 down breakers and got a whole door and swopped that and the locks
