Thread: Cruise control irratic

Morning all,
I have 2005 Octavia 1.9d 4X4 bought from new and the cruise control has recently been irractic.
Some times will not set from start, will switch itself off after some miles and would not reset after switching the on off toggle switch , would occationally reset when ignition switch off and back on.
Any sudgestions.

I have a 2005 Octavia 1.9TDI. I am also having a problem with my cruise control. Initially the would switch off intermittently some times resetting itself by turning it off and on again and sometimes not. Now it does not work at all. I have heard that a dirty cruise control switch could be the fault. Cleaning can fix the problem. Has anyone any idea how to remove the switch for cleaning as I have heard that this only takes 10 to 15 minutes.
