Default Jacking points for Skoda Octavia 1.9tdi

    Hello,

Can anyone tell me the best position to place a trolley jack when lifting an Octavia to replace brake discs please?

    Thank you,
    Jonah

Hi Jonah...I know I'm probably too late for this one (I've only just joined the forum) but it might help others. Firstly, the best and safest place to lift any vehicle is the manufacturers designated jacking point, under the sills on the Octavia (marked by triangular stampings in the sill panel). Only lift one side at a time to maximise stability and safety. Use a piece of hard wood or high density rubber between the trolley jack and the sill flange to protect the finish. ALWAYS suppliment the jack with an axle stand - never rely on a jack alone. Remember, it safer to work on one side at a time. Hope this will be helpful, regards Big Kev.
