Thread: temperature indicator light flashing

on my octavia 1.9tdi temperature indicator light is flashing when I start the engine when it is cold then it flashes a few minutes while the engine warms up a little and then it stops. Engine temperature is always OK,so radiator is working properly and the engine is not losing water at all.
This all happens only when I start the cold engine,when I start it warmed up then the light doesn't come on.

Any ideas what could it be?

Mine does it too - I think it's the sensor in the expansion chamber - if you overfill it the problem goes away. I don't do that though - I just turn the engine off after I get to the end of my lane and restart it.
