Thread: speedo failed

Hi all i have a 2000 octavia 1.6 petrol with 156K miles and still going strong but last night on my way home the speedo stopped speedoing and the mileometre stopped counting. Is there any common faults i should check?

A common fault is that the instrument cluster fails with age, if you remove fuse 15 they will work again but your trip and your clock will start from zero every time you start up. Thare are companies on the web that will repair the unit for around £180.00.
