Thread: Power Steering Light

Hi All

Just bought the wife a Skoda Fabia 1.4TDi with 50K on clock. Happy(ish) with purchase but Power Steering Light keeps coming on. Took it back,they reckon that it was due to low battery cos of cold weather while on forecourt. So they stick it on trickle charge and then give it us back saying its sorted. Took it out for short run last night. When I parked up and started again, it came on again. Drove home. Started on drive again, and it didn't come on.

Any thoughts please?

This is how we discovered the fault on ours. Check battery fluid levels and connections including earth. charge battery 24hrs leave two hows and test. Also check alternator. I changed alternator and still have same problem our battery had to drop to 5volts befor power steering light came on. Our battery is in good condition. if in dought after charging if still occures get battery and alternator tested. I having mine tested monday.
