Thinking of getting a '97 1.3 (1st car) but...
First post, hoping someone can help me out here too
We had a look at an immaculate Felicia 1.3 LXi Plus (1997) last weekend, and expected the usual wear & tear. Pleasantly surprised to find a smart, clean car, with a couple of spots of cosmetic work needed. Engine sounded fine, steering was good, full mot and service history (including all receipts) as it was a single owner....
But...
My dad (who took it for a test drive on my behalf) said that the gearbox entry gates were very wide. I'm not sure what this means myself, but he expressed reluctance to buy this car until we'd seen another Felicia of similar age/mileage. We did, and the gear change was completely different.
Could this be an underlying problem - or can it easily be repaired? We didn't experience any difficulty in changing gear, so at a loss as to what it may be. Google searches produced no similar problems in these cars.
Please help. If this is an easy fix, or cheap to repair, we'll get the car!
Thanks
Richard
