Alarm going off in the middle of the night
Hi all
I have a Skoda Octavia 1.9 tdi 2004 and I am having a problem with the alarm going mad in the middel of the night even though nothing is going near the car. It doesen't go off if I shake the car it only seem to go off after the car has been left for 3+ hours.
Can any one let me know if they have any idea of what could be causing this or if anyone els had the same problem and has had it fixed
Even if anyone knows how to deactivate the alarm that would help
Thanks in advance for your advice

Thanks for the reply TDI, I just fitted a new battery last week as this is what I thought it was but it didn't fix the problem.):

Just cause its new does not mean to say its perfect. still carry out as prescribe. could be the alternator.
Is it the same time each night or different

Thanks TDI I will give that a go, it isen't going off at the same time.

JUST ASKED AS WONDERED IF a signal could be setting of. do you have a garage ? if so park it in it and leave the boot open see if it happens. another would be to try the doors when alarms set. another idea is to remove anything hanging in car. i know you rocked it but worth a try. hoover out the ultra sonics. jusst through grill.

Hello
My wife got similiar problem with her Octavia...
I guess it has something to do with the engineheater.
When the heater starts 3 a clock in the morning the alarm starts yelling at he same time.

Hi dodde,
What do you mean when you say "heater starts 3 a clock in the morning"
why would the heater start at 3am?
I have had a good look in to this and it seems to be something to do with
the vents, I have been told that if I leave my vents facing up at the
windscreen at night air get through them and sets the alarm off so at
night I started making sure the vents (fans) were facing down to the feet
area and even though I didn't thank that would work the alarm has never
went off since (-:

Alarm
Hi
I donīt know how cold the winter is where you live but here in sweden it can be quite cold ;-)
My english feels rusty but i try to explain it again :-)
We have a timer that starts the engine heater "Calix" about 3 a clock in the morning.
And then we have a cab heater that melts the ice on the windows, it stands on the floor inside the car.
I guess thatīs the biggest problem, when the cab heater starts spinning and blowing, the alarm sets off...
So we keep the car unlocked at the winterseason.
But we have our own houselot so i hope the car still will be there in the morning.
It would be better if someone could solve this problem with the alarm
