Thread: High Mileage 4 year old Octavia

Hi there....just joined !!!
I am picking up a 04 plate Octavia 1.9TD on Tuesday but it has 170 000 miles on the clock....Its only costing me 2200 quid and I am buying it untried.
It seems to be a bargain to me.
Its owned by a garage and they say it has full service history...hired to the local council for school runs.
Would such a high mileage diesel cause too many problems do you think ?
Condition is very good...just a slight tear in drivers seat cover.
What should I look for ?
Garage owner says it had MOT in June and one transmission joint was changed.
I need to drive it back to Germany almost immediately.
Worth getting roadside cover ?
If so...I cant seem to find European cover anywhere...maybe German cover would be better.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

this cars been a taxi,get an aa inspection!!

these cars do a huge amount of miles in the taxi trade but step carefully where you buy.ive seen them with 440,000 miles but many parts replaced,gearbox being the main issue. the electrics are also worth checking!!
